This is assigned to 2.0 because putting it in 1.1 would make it very easy to reproduce un-fixable bug #71. In 2.0, the whole status indicator mechanism is difference, and once finished, it should deal far better with that situation.

This just took another turn since I've now implemented folder-expunge support as well. I'm most likely to implement this in the following way:

  • Bury some "prompt on delete"-style options deep in the account or global configuration, defaulted to on.
  • Add "don't prompt me again" checkboxes to the confirmation dialogs

This way people see the prompt at least once, and know immediately how to turn it off.
